Pump automation unit (press control)

(VT.EPC.11) Pump automation unit (press control) is designed for automatic control of water supply systems pumps and for their protection against operation with “closed gate valve” and from a “dry run”.

The unit is a combination of a minimum pressure limit switch and a flow switch, which control pump switching on / off. In case of water draw-off or pressure drop below the setup value, the unit starts the pump, thus ensuring water supply to users. The value of cut-in pressure may be set autonomously within the range from 1.5 to 3.0 bar (factory setting is 1.5 bar). Terminated water draw-off, pump shutdown takes place with the delay of 8 s, which eliminates the possibility of a hydro shock. If there is no water in the suction line, the unit switches off the pump with the delay of 10–15 s, thus protecting it from the “dry run”. Pressure indicator integrated into the unit ensures visual control of the value of the operating environment pressure at the output of the unit.

One more function of the model is automatic reset in case of failure. In case of an accident, the pump automation unit turns off the pump, but will try to start it every 15 minutes. This function will help to automatically put the relay into operation mode, if the accident is caused by a temporary factor, for example, temporary decrease of the water level in the well.

The unit is distinguished for its compactness and is equipped with a control panel. The built-in pressure gauge ensures visual control of operating environment pressure at the unit output. Relay working contacts are made of silver-nickel alloy not oxidizing in wet conditions. The unit may be used at ambient humidity up to 70%. Device protection class: IP54. Connecting nozzles thread diameter: 1". Maximum water temperature: 60 °C.
